FamilyStyle ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application handles your information.

Our core philosophy is simple: We do not collect, store, or sell your personal data.

1. Information Collection and Storage
FamilyStyle is designed to operate primarily offline and on-device. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not maintain a database of our users.

Bill History & Settings: All data you enter into the app—including bill amounts, custom items, friend names, and Venmo usernames—is stored strictly locally on your device. We do not have access to this information.
2. Camera and Photos (Receipt Scanning)
To use our "Smart Scan" feature, the app requires access to your device's camera and photo library.

Ephemeral Processing: When you scan or upload a receipt, the image is transmitted to a secure, automated cloud service strictly for the purpose of real-time text extraction (OCR).
No Retention: The image is processed in real-time and is immediately discarded by the server. It is never saved, stored, logged, or used to train AI models.
3. Contacts
FamilyStyle may request access to your device's contacts to help you quickly send bill totals to your friends.

Local Use Only: Your contact list is accessed locally on your device to populate the native SMS messenger. We never transmit your contact list to our servers or any third-party databases.
4. Third-Party Services
While we do not collect data, the app interacts with a few third-party services to function:

Google Cloud / Gemini: Used exclusively for real-time, ephemeral receipt scanning.
Venmo: We generate deep links to the Venmo app to facilitate payments between you and your friends. We do not process, track, or have visibility into any financial transactions.
5. Children's Privacy
Because we do not collect personal information, our service does not actively collect data from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.
